Image
Hi men, my name is   Dr. Stephen de Wit   and I’m a sexologist and today we’re busting male sexual myths on sexual relationships. So one of the myths that I hear a lot is that the most important sexual relationship is the one that you have with your partner. Now you may be sitting there and saying “ Yeah duh Stephen of course it is”, but i’m going to challenge you and say it’s not. The most important sexual   relationship is the one that you have with yourself. Sex happens between your ear before it happens between your legs. Now just take a moment to think about it. When you’re going into a sexual situation or you’re in a sexual situation, most of us are up in our heads. We’re thinking about oh my goodness is it going to be good, is this going to work, are they going to like this? Is it going to be pleasurable? All this kind of stuff that’s happening and you may think about, you know, some of the times when you’re not in a sexual space. How do you relate to yourse...

Could I have low testosterone?

Image
Low testosterone (also known as low-T) is more common than you think and it can negatively affect your body in more ways than one. Due to the wide variety of symptoms, low-T can often be confused with other conditions such as anxiety, erectile dysfunction and aging. Approximately one in four men over the age of 30 exper i ence low testosterone, but less than 5% are diagnosed and treated for the condition. For starters, most men don’t necessarily enjoy taking trips to the doctors and would rather just accept that “this is just how their body is.” Alternatively, these symptoms of low-T can be attributed to other, less complicated, conditions. So, how do I know if I suffer from low-T? Great question! Testosterone is a natural hormone responsible for the normal growth and development of certain male organs and for maintenance of critical masculine traits such as bone and muscle mass, facial hair, sperm production, and your labido. The symptoms of low testosterone could be wide rangin...

In such cases, the male has typically a normal functioning scrotum and head of the penis but there is underdevelopment of that part of the body. Medical treatment has been suggested to correct genitals but it’s ultimately a choice between adult males and final decision makers. Beginning from the ancient old times to recent times, quite a few methods have been invented to improve the sexual encounter. Image
In Canada, about one in four men over the age of 30 test low for testosterone on blood work but only a fraction of them seek treatment. A lot of times, this happens because the symptoms can be passed off as “normal signs of getting older” or even symptoms of other conditions unrelated to low-testosterone. It also stems from a lack of understanding of what low-testosterone is and how it can affect you as a male. As you get older, it’s n a tural to see regular drops in testosterone usually around 1.5 to 2%. These drops correlate with other health symptoms you may be experiencing such as cardiovascular disease and obesity. How to Know If You Have Low Testosterone Low Testosterone shows itself in many different forms and varies from person to person. For example, some men may experience more psychological symptoms of low-testosterone such as decreased motivation and low self esteem while others may experience physical symptoms like erectile dysfunction and lack of energy or increased fatig...
